06.27.2006: Noise measurements according to Chapter X for certification
The measurements involves climbing the aircraft at full power and MTOW while measuring noise levels dB(A) on the ground 2.5 km beyond the point of take off.

The highest allowable value is 72.3 dB(A). The test flights were performed in the evening on Laar, a quiet military airfield with no other traffic and a background noise level of 48 dB(A). It was not possible to record any noise emittance from the Antares 20E. This situation had more or less been expected, so an employee of the LBA (German Aviation Authority) was attending the measurements in order to decide on the appropriate further proceeding of the measurements. We expect the measured noise level according to Chapter X to be set to <48 dB(A). We believe that the real noise level is somewhere between 44 and 46 dB(A).
